A new friend recently told me about Jen's blog which I check out and loved. (You have to try some of her recipe's) I read her story and saw she wrote a book, I immediately ordered it and read it in a day. I couldn't put it down. To say it's inspirational is the understatement of the year! This book was funny, sad, heartbreaking, enlightening, inspiring, heartwarming and spiritual. Two of my five children (13 and under) have cystic fibrosis and we are LDS like her and her family so it was especially meaningful to me. I can't lie and say it was a bit hard to read in some parts-especially when her parents are quoted-it hits to a little to close to home. I definitely cried a lot of tears, some sad ones and some happy ones. I've already loaded it out to my mom with several people (including my husband) waiting to read it. If I can be a tad critical (that sounds like a harsh word) the writing and editing could be better--just to make it flow a little better. This book belongs on the top 10 best seller's list. Really. Very interesting story of a person struggling with Cystic Fibrosis and her strength of her faith carrying her through the ordeal. I would call it a great
"faith based" story and would certainly recommend it to others.
This book is really a powerful and inspiring read. As a young mom, I was especially intrigued by the selfless love and continual efforts of the author's amazing parents. I feel more grateful for all my blessings after reading this account. It was difficult to put the book down, and I often found myself reading late into the night. Though the book is heartbreaking at times, it is a story of triumph at its core. The moments of surprising humor made the book such a delight as it is evident that having a good attitude and faith through trials can help overcome anything.
I've read this book twice since I bought it and I liked it even more the second time. I have a daughter with Cystic Fibrosis and I love the positive outlook the Sabin family has on life. The book shares some deep raw feelings and journal entries about family members. I loved reading and relating to some of the entries. Overall an incredible story!
This book is very uplifting and will change how you look at life. It helps you realize what is important in life. In a world where there is so much turmoil and strife, this book demonstrates that there are "everyday" people out there who truely understand the meaning of serving and giving. From Jennifer's parents and siblings to her friends who donated part of their lungs, this book captures all that is good with human nature. Jennifer is an incredible person and I have been made a better person from reading her story about her life living with cystic fybrosis. Thank you for writing this!!!!
